Easy Double Smoked Turkey Breast
Easy Double Smoked Turkey Breast
from Ellen's kitchen, thanks to cutsandcrumbles.com. I know that it feels as if the double-cooked turkey would be very dry, but oh boy, so tender and juicy! With a 1/2 cup of butter in the basting sauce, how can you go wrong?
Ingredients:
- precooked turkey breast
- canola oil
- all purpose BBQ rub, or rub of choice
- 1 stick (8 tbs) butter
- 2 tsp hot sauce
- 1 tsp honey
- sprinkle of rub
Set:
- smoker to 250 and let get to temp
Place:
- probe in thickest part of turkey breast, setting internal goal temp to 170
Rub:
- breast with canola oil and cover generously with dry BBQ rub and place in disposable aluminum
baking dish
Place:
- butter, hot sauce, honey, and rub (basting sauce) in oven proof container that you are going to place on smoker
Put:
- baking dish with turkey and basting sauce container on smoker grill
Smoke:
- turkey for 45 minutes, and then baste every 20 minutes until about 10 minutes to internal goal
temperature.
Increase:
- smoker temperature to 350 for last minutes until probe reaches internal temperature.
Remove:
- from heat and cool prior to carving.
