Sauteed Asian Broccoli
Sauteed Asian Broccoli
from Ellen's kitchen, with thanks to Gold Coast broccoli
Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs broccoli
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup plus 3 tbs water
- 3 tbs soy sauce
- 1 tbs cornstarch
- 1 tbs packed brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
- oil in large nonstick frying pan until shimmer. Add broccoli and stir to coat in oil. Add 3 tbs water and cover with tight fitting lid. Cook until broccoli is tender, about 3 minutes.
Whisk:
- 1/4 cup water, soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar and red pepper flakes in medium bowl. Set aside.
Reduce heat to medium, add garlic to frying pan, stir to combine and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Remove pan from heat. Rewhisk reserved sauce and add to pan. Stir until sauce thickens and coats broccoli, about 1 minute. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
